Laura Ann Samuelson is a choreographer/dance artist whose work focuses on the colliding forces of instinct, emotion, and environment. She invites audiences to experience the mysteriously familiar, humorous and tragic worlds embedded in each moment of performance. Her work forges from an amalgamated vision--a desire to meld dance, theater, and visual art. She collaborates with sound engineers, set designers, actors, musicians, and other dance artists.

Laura Ann received a BA in Dance Performance/Composition and Creative Writing from Hampshire College (and the Five College Dance Department). She has enjoyed opportunity to work with a variety of dance artists including David Dorfman, Fritha Pengelly, Cathy Nicoli,  Katie Martin, Candice Salyers, Daphne Lowell, Jim Coleman, Wendy Woodson, Nicolas Leichter, and Kathleen Hermesdorf, among others. Her performance work has been shown nationally and internationally, most recently, in France. Laura Ann performs with the Valse Vertige project, an ongoing collaboration under the direction of Liz Claire in Paris, France.
